Northern Monk  —  Great Northern Ale

Description

Great Northern Ale is our nod to the proud tradition of northern brewing, to the golden, crisp cask bitters that are the signature of the cosy Yorkshire pub. Brewed with a base of golden promise barley and pale crystal malts and hopped with UK variety Ernest at the lead for notes of apricot and tangerine, we backed this with a touch of Cascade to add a floral element and back up the citrus notes. For fermentation, we selected a traditional Yorkshire ale strain which leaves a full mouthfeel and enhances the biscuit and nutty malt flavours.
