Polly's Brew Co — A Beautiful Attempt
IPA
We’re all about challenging ourselves here at Polly’s HQ. In parallel to this, we love making little callbacks to previous and highly regarded beers we’ve previously brewed too. A Beautiful Attempt came into existence through a challenge set by our brewers to create a beer with the same hop lineup as Spur, but reeled back so the flavour and mouthfeel isn’t quite so intense. Scaled back to a 6% IPA, we feel this is the real sweet spot for our kegged IPAs – not low enough that the mouthfeel is lost, but not high enough that it frazzles the palate. Spur’s three way hyper tropical lineup of Citra, Simcoe and Azacca bring the juice in droves, but at a total of 25kg, those papaya, peach, tangerine and mango notes are a little more subtle than the all out flavour attack of its bigger sibling.
